Todo quien conoce a Matt Riddle y Timothy Thatcher sabe que meterlos a un ring va a necesitar a un doctor por ahí cerca, pero aquí los meten a una estructura extraña, es el ring sin cuerdas, dentro de una jaula de acero que tiene una plataforma en la parte superior, así que el resultado es tener la lucha menos WWE en la historia de WWE y es de esas que tienen que recordarse cómo esas joyas raras o santos griales del negocio. La pelea empieza y Matt Riddle se va con todo a noquear a Thatcher y hacer alarde de que es un experimentado peleando en estructuras con jaulas y sin duda lo es porque hace uso impecable de esta para lastimar a Thatcher todo lo que puede, entonces Thatcher que es un masoquista, recibe todo lo que le viene encima mientras encuentra momentos de aplicar sus llaves para tratar de rendir o dormir a Riddle, o simplemente irle bajando el ritmo, pero conocemos el sobre Hype de Riddle y eso es poco probable que pase, incluso en sus ataques termina volándole dos dientes a Thatcher y lo pone a derramar bastante sangre, pero esto no lo detiene de seguir en la pelea, mientras Kurt Angle mira perplejo esto. Tenemos entonces una pelea desquiciada llena de cachetadas, patadas en seco, Suplex tratando de que el rival caiga de cabeza a la lona y llaveos tratando de desmayar al otro, Riddle es superior y lanza ataques aéreos cayendo con todo el peso de su cuerpo sobre cualquier zona del cuerpo de Thatcher, lo importante es hacerle daño, entonces Thatcher que es un tipo demasiado inteligente en el ring aprovecha este desenfreno de Riddle y sabe que los errores vendrán, y así sucede, Thatcher aprovecha todos los errores de Riddle para ir haciéndole daño y logra estrellarlo de cara contra el metal para luego aplicarle un Rear Naked Choke y dejarlo inconsciente. Genial combate. ***1/2

Cómo explicarlo, me pasa algo con este match y es que es muy bueno, pero cómo que siento que en NJPW he visto ya mucho este tipo de luchas largas con un acabado brutal, que esta me termina pareciendo poco especial en comparación con las clásicas Okada vs Tanahashi, Omega, Shibata y otras. Tenemos el clásico inicio de estudio de una lucha larga de NJPW, Okada sale e intenta sorprender con el Rainmaker, pero claramente no logrará hacerlo de esta forma a un especialista de la velocidad cómo Ibushi por lo que entonces tiene que ir a su clásico trabajo a la cabeza, luego intenta atacar a las piernas para cortarle sus alas a Ibushi pero este está super concentrado y no le permite esto. Llegamos al punto donde Ibushi se muestra tan preparado para enfrentar a Okada que le resiste cómo si nada sus golpes fuertes y termina dándole una paliza a punta de puños violentos al campeón, quien sólo logra volver a dejar abajo a Ibushi con un Tombstone en el apron. Okada parece tener aquí el control y logra conectar varias variantes del Rainmaker a las cuales sorpresivamente Ibushi sobrevive, lo que nos lleva a al acabado súper encendido con una secuencia de golpes fuertes entre rodillazos de Ibushi, el Tombstone de Okada y un último Rainmaker para finalmente retener el título. Volviendo a las generalidades del match, está super bueno como ya mencioné y sin duda debe estar entre lo mejor del año, pero entre tantas otras luchas geniales y épicas de NJPW esta se queda algo por debajo de ellas por lo que al final claramente la recordaré menos, siento que le faltó algo más a demás de los geniales spots de golpes fuertes y movimientos devastadores que siempre nos brindan. ***1/2

Tenia todo un Review del Day 1 pero por alguna razón lo perdí y al fina quise sólo reescribir este match. Debo mencionar que Ospreay vs Takahashi fue el mejor match de este show en mi opinión, gran lucha e historia en aquel encuentro.

Top 100 Mejores Luchas 2018

Bueno terminó un año más y en esta ocación tuve la oportunidad de ver muchas más luchas que en el 2017. En general creo que fue un buen año para los fans del wrestling, creo que NJPW sigue siendo la promoción Top pero su americanización la bajado mucho del nivel que tenía en 2012-2013, AJPW por su parte es la promoción más infravalorada y que más seriedad y epicidad le pone a sus luchas siendo la que mejor bookea definitivamente su campeonato principal, WWE es mejor que en 2017 pero sigue siendo pobre en los shows de su roster principal y básicamente sólo por NXT y algo 205 Live está en el mapa y en cuanto a las indies muy poco sale teniendo en cuenta que las grandes empresas se han llevado todas las figuras que hay, pero de alguna forma logran siempre poner alguna que otra luchita entre las cosas destacadas del año, aquí por supuesto incluyo a ROH y las indies de UK.

Si no ven algunas que estan en todos los tops cómo el Omega-Jericho, Cole-Black, Lynch-Charlotte, Cole-Ricochet, Okada-SANADA, Riddle-Ospreay  en realidad si las vi pero no se me hicieron tan increíbles y están entre *** y ***1/4 y no alcanzaron a entrar a mi Top.

Cuando escribo sobre una lucha en particular sin que la entrada sea de un show completo es porque considero tiene algo realmente especial y la recomiendo por sobre otras incluso cuando tienen mejor calificación que esta ¿Por que?, porque esta lucha es mágica así de sencillo y puede gustarle a cualquier fan o no fan de la lucha. Sabre y WALTER ya tuvieron una lucha en PWG que toda la gente amó, menos yo.

Esta lucha ya tenía un par de meses de suceder antes de que yo la viera, nadie me la recomendó, simplemente la encontré y el destino quería que yo la viera. Los dos tuvieron otra lucha buena en EVOLVE a inicios de este año, pero por mucho siento que esta es la mejor de su serie de luchas.

Le doy toda la razón a quienes no gustan de Sabre porque dicen que el tipo hace mucho llaveo innecesario en el ring, a pesar de todo eso lo encuentro buen luchador cuando no se exagera con su llaveo o peca con poca venta, pero en esta lucha no hay nada de eso. La historia del match es sencilla, Sabre sabe que no es tan poderoso como WALTER y se enfoca totalmente en las piernas de su rival, no solo con llaves si no con un montón de patadas violentas que definitivamente dejan a WALTER cada vez más vulnerable, pero eso no evita que en algunos momentos logre darle unos buenos costalazos al pobre Sabre. La lucha en general es toda una obra de Sabre, el tipo lleva a WALTER a donde quiere y lo muestra tan debilitado cómo en ninguna otra lucha lo ví. Si me preguntan, este Sabre tiene toda la credibilidad para hacer rendir a cualquier monstruo que se imaginen, Lesnar, Strowman, Okabayashi, que se yo.

Resalto a demás que el publico hacia también un gran trabajo aquí.

Vaya esto no es para todo el mundo, para mi esto fue magnifico, la primera caida sucedió casi cómo a la media hora de iniciada la lucha, desde el inicio de esto se puede saber que esto va a durar mucho porque por lo menos los 20 minutos de la lucha son practicamente de estudio por parte de los dos rivales, la lucha no tiene un ritmo endemoniado en esta primera parte pero los spots y golpes bestiales están ahí. Omega y Okada se guardan para tener una lucha larga donde el final tiene que ser infernal, ambos llegan a tener su momento de dominio, ambos cuentan bien una historia de cómo ya se conocen y pueden revertirse algunos ataques ya clásicos de ambos, especialente se puede apreciar cómo Omega esta bastante relajado y en varios momentos supera a Okada tranquilamente teniendo un counter para todo lo que el campeón le lanza, uno de los ataques más bestiales se lo lleva Omega siendo impactado contra la valla metálica fuera del ring que lo deja visiblemente lastimado, lo que va a llevar a Okada a tener buen dominio sobre Omega, quien en la parte final de la primera caida intenta revertir los ataques de Okada pero cae a la cuenta de tres tras un Roll Up.

La segunda caída inicia con Omega algo desesperado lanzandose con todo sobre Okada ya que sabe que una caída más terminará todo para él, Okada por su parte también empieza a lanzarle todo lo que tiene a Omega ya que una caída más le dará la victoria, así que esta es la parte de la lucha donde se lanzan más ataques violentos y golpes fuertes. En algunos momentos cuestionaba la venta, pero tampoco era algo grande que me arruinase la lucha y más bien sentí que esta era la caìda donde tenian que matarse por lo que ganar esta representaba, al final Omega termina llevándose la caìda tras el Katayoku No Tenshi sobre un Okada que pareció confiado en esta parte de la lucha y le terminó costando.

Para la caìda final, Omega se va con todo, tiene a Okada lastimado y es su mejor oportunidad para llevarse la lucha, pero en su desesperaciòn y hambre de llevarse esto, termina por llevarse el primer Rainmaker del match, pero Okada no es capaz de cubrir porque para este punto de la lucha está terriblemente agotado y lastimado y esta es la historia final de la lucha, sólo un montón de drama y venta de agotamiento intenso porque para este punto estos dos ya llevan más de 1 hora peleando. Me encantan los detalles de esta historia final, Omega le cuesta mucho cargar a Okada y lo más brillante para mi es cómo Okada conecta el Rainmaker más debil de su vida porque ya no tiene las mismas fuerzas, así mismo la venta facial de Omega es aterradora, no se cómo hizo para que sus ojos parecieran a punto de estallar. La última caída pudo ser corta despues de todo lo que ya habían hecho pero fácilmento esto dura otros 20 minutos más o menos, ambos están destrozados, el momento que realmente me hizo quedar boqui abierto fue un Katayoku No Tenshi de Omega totalmente imperfecto porque así lo quiso Omega para transmitirnos su poca claridad para aplicar movimientos a esta altura de la lucha, pero que se vio cómo el más bestial que ha hecho y que dejo a Okada practicamente en otro mundo, finalmente Omega se lanzó para un último ataque matando a Okada con un enfermizo V-Trigger y un último Katayoku No Tenshi-

Las opiniones para esta lucha fácilmente deben estar divididas, esto no es para todos, algunos dicen que es la mejor lucha de la historia, no lo es en mi opinión, de hecho aun me quedo con la primera lucha que estos dos tuvieron en Wrestle Kingdom el año pasado, pero esta sin duda es especial y para este momento es mi gran candidata a lucha del año, es diferente a todo lo demas y fue ejecutado tal cual quisieron. ****3/4

El 2017 fue el año en que menos luchas ví desde que soy fan, pero aún así considero que me las arreglé al menos para ver las más importantes y que la comunidad ha considerado cómo buenas, así cómo otras que han pasado desapercibidas pero que a mi me gustaron. La final que este torneo necesitaba era esta, dos competidoras con un estilo fuerte capaz de hacer de esta una lucha que se sintiera cómo algo realmente importante, cuando no había un título en juego cómo se dio en las finales del CWC y el UK, bien pudieron poner el NXT Women's Title en juego aquí creo. Shayna inició tratando de buscar una rendición ràpida pero Kairi la hizo cambiar de estrategia al reversarle todo con un intento de pin, así que Baszler entonces se dedicó a dar algunas patadas fuertes para luego enfocarse en el brazo de Kairi, quien básicamente se dedicó a sufrir todo lo posible, ya saben es la estrategia que viene siendo siempre, trabajando desde abajo porque es capaz de soportar mucho hasta conectar uno de sus letales golpes a la zona media, golpes que buscó en esta lucha desesperadamente con varios intentos de spear hasta que logró conectar uno que fue el inicio del fin de Shayna. Shayna iba a seguir dominando, pero cada golpe que Kairi le regalaba a las costillas parecían hacerla retorserse del dolor y cada vez su ofensiva era visiblemente más débil, cómo lo era su Rear Naked Choke que acabó luchas rápidamente en todo el torneo pero que aquí no funcionó porque Kairi se liberó con fuertes codazos a las castillas ya lastimadas de Baszler. Al final fue todo sufrimiento para Shayna, Kairi terminó por acabarla con un poderoso Double Foot Stomp y un brutal Uraken a la zona media que abrieron paso al Diving Elbow que puso fin a la lucha. Gran final para el torneo, no es un MOTY cómo pude esperar pero es una lucha con una historia dentro del ring brillantemente ejecutada. ***1/2

Todo el mundo estarà de acuerdo en que esto es lo más extraño que ha podido ver cómo fan del wrestling y tras ver esto, usted puede haberlo odiado o haberlo amado. La internet en estos momentos está loca y en todos lados se habla de esto, entonces es un gran punto a favor de TNA independientemente de si usted ve esto cómo una jugada desesperada o tonta; por mi parte estoy del lado de los que amaron esto y la encuentro cómo una jugada brillantemente creativa.

Hace ya varias semanas, TNA empezó con sus extrañas promos en este formato que parecía una pélicula y dio mucho de que hablar, pero algo totalmente impensable es que hicieran una lucha en este mismo formato. Aunque sea de los que odió esto, deberá aceptar que jamás pudo aburrirse y que esto era increíblemente divertido. La lucha tiene de todo, empezando cómo una lucha común, pasando a ser algo un poco extremo, recordando inevitablemente a los clásicos Hardy y sus spots con escaleras, para luego ser algo muy cómico, no podré olvidar las actuaciones de Matt Hardy mientras atacaba con pirotécnia a su hermano o mientras él era atacado de igual manera. La lucha o lo que esto haya sido finalmente pasa a ser todavía más extraña y sorpresiva, con Willow emergiéndo de entre el agua para extrangular a Matt, sólo hasta que Señor Benjamin, el mayordomo de Matt electrocutara a Willow, sin embargo cuando Matt aprovecha para cubrir a Willow y conseguir la cuenta de tres, desenmascara a Willow para llevarse la gran sorpresa de que allí estaba Señor Benjamin y no Jeff, así que la lucha continuaba para llegar a su final, donde Jeff sube a una enorme insignia de los Hardy a la que Matt prende fuego, consiguiendo que Jeff caíga sobre un montón de tierra, para finalmente cubrirlo y así llevarse la victoria.

Me encantó, creo que TNA ha conseguido que todo el mundo hable de esto, creo que cualquier opinión que pueda existir a cerca de esto, es totalmente subjetiva, cómo ya he mencionado usted puede odiarlo porque no es lo que un fan del wrestling puede esperar jamás y evidentemente puede verse cómo todo menos un combate de lucha libre profesional, o usted puede amarlo porque esto es lo más creativo, sorpresivo e ingenieso que haya visto y seguramente por esta opinión podrían saltarme los fans más afiebrados de WWE, diciéndome que si esto lo hiciera WWE yo lo detestaría por completo y la realidad es que así es, pero es debido a que esto no puede hacerse otra vez, nunca, ni siquiera TNA de nuevo, una de las razones por las que esto me ha encantado es porque es único.

Fui fan de todo lo que hay aquí, porque no es una lucha pretenciosa a la que yo pueda buscarle fallas, me encantó cómo se llevó a cabo todo desde el inicio hasta el fin, me encantó la música durante toda la lucha y me encantaron las actuaciones de todos los involucrados, especialmente Matt Hardy.

Kalisto (c) vs Alberto del Rio (United States Title) - WWE Smackdown 1/14/2016

Leí algunos comentarios en internet hypeando demasiado esta lucha, incluso diciendo que era mejor que todo lo que hubo en Wrestle Kingdom, evidentemente de fanáticos demasiado amantes de WWE, con eso no lograron crear un hype increíble en mi por ver esto y esperarme una candidata a lucha del año, pero realmente me dio curiosidad por ver la lucha y la realidad es que me gustó, y sólo por eso para que no quede en el olvido me dieron ganas de escribir un poco sobre ella para así en algún momento recordar porque razón me había gustado.

Kalisto (c) vs Alberto del Rio:
WWE Smackdown (Enero 14, 2016)

En la edición de Monday Night RAW anterior a este show de Smackdown, Kalisto sorpresivamente se convirtió en el campeón de los Estados Unidos tras derrotar a Alberto del Rio, en una lucha a la que a penas si le puse atención porque realmente no era nada especial. Débido a su derrota, en esta ocación Alberto del Rio llegó con todas las intenciones de humillar y hacer pagar a Kalisto por la humillación que él le había hecho pasar en el momento que lo derrotó por el título, entonces tenemos toda una descarga de furia de Alberto desde el primer segundo en que suena la campana, sin embargo Kalisto hace uso de su gran agilidad para reaccionar ante los ataques de Del Rio, fórmula que le sirvió para derrotarlo anteriormente, pero en esta ocación Alberto estaba preparado para eso y empezó a concentrarse en debilitar a su rival enfocándose en el brazo, una decisión bastante inteligente de quien o quienes bookearon la lucha ya que probablemente un trabajo a las piernas no hubiera sido vendido y la intención en las luchas con High Flyers es verlos volar por todas partes.

La lucha es buena porque tiene sentido, algo muy raro en WWE, viene de una rivalidad de a penas un par de semanas que no creo que sea una maravilla pero que hace funcionar esta lucha, también hay detalles que impidieron que esto fuera incluso mejor, no es que quiera restarle puntos sólo porque odio a Wade Barrett pero el hecho de verlo cuando la lucha regresaba de comerciales fue cómo una bofetada para traerme de una lucha que no parecía de WWE a una típica lucha de WWE. Pero cómo ya dije la lucha sigue siendo buena porque el trabajo de Del Rio sigue siendo muy bueno y la venta de Kalisto es buena también, pero las interferencias de Barrett o solo su presencia se sienten bastante innecesarias, teniendo en cuenta que Del Rio está dominando la lucha desde el principio y Barrett sólo hace sentir a Alberto cómo uno de los tantos rudos mediocres de WWE que necesita ayuda, cuando la lucha ya venía siendo trabajada para dejar claro que no era así, y ¿sólo por estas ayudas de Barrett, Del Rio logra aplicar el Cross Armbreaker a Kalisto?, la verdad es que por cómo estaba transcurriendo la lucha se podia preveer que en cualquier momento Del Rio iba a aplicar este movimiento y es por esto que digo que las interferencias de Barrett son especialmente innecesarias, y continuando en el punto del Cross Armbreaker, otro pequeño detalle que podía ser mejor y que es lo único que cuestiono en la venta de la lucha, es que Kalisto duró bastante tiempo resistiendo este movimiento cuando su brazo estaba ya realmente lastimado, nada grave pero es sólo un pequeño detalle a mejorar por lo menos para quienes buscan el mayor sentido de credibilidad viendo luchas. Al final Kalisto falló de forma violenta un Tope Suicida, Alberto entonces lo llevó de vuelta al ring y aplicó el Cross Armbreaker nuevamente, haciendo rendir a Kalisto ràpidamente, si, en esta ocación no duró más de 2 segundos para rendirse, lo que estuvo bien aquí, pero que refuerza mis dudas sobre la larga resistencia que puso al Cross Armbreaker que había recibido hace sólo un par de minutos.

En fin es una buena lucha, con un tiempo bastante acorde a lo que se quería contar dentro del ring. Es la ùnica lucha buena en todos los shows de WWE en esta mitad del primer mes del 2016.
